Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This policy explains what information CalculateBright (“we,” “us”) and our service providers and advertising partners collect when you visit calculatebright.com (the “site”), how it is used, and the choices you have.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser
Calculations run entirely in your web browser. The numbers you type into calculators are not sent to or stored on our servers. If you use “Copy link to results,” your inputs are added to the page address so you can share them; anyone with that link can see those values.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare), analytics providers and advertising partners automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it (city/region/country);
- browser type, operating system, device type, screen size and language;
- pages viewed, time spent, referring site and links clicked;
- cookie identifiers, pixel/web-beacon data and, on mobile devices, advertising identifiers (device IDs);
- information about ads shown to you and whether you viewed or clicked them.
We use this information to operate, secure and improve the site, understand usage, and fund the site through advertising.
Advertising and third-party ad partners
CalculateBright is free because it is supported by ads. We work with third-party advertising networks and ad management partners (“ad partners”), which in turn work with their own vendors, such as ad exchanges, demand-side platforms, measurement companies and fraud-prevention providers.
Our ad partners and their vendors may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, local storage, device identifiers and similar technologies on this site and across other websites and apps to:
- serve personalized ads (also called interest-based or targeted advertising) based on your visits to this site and other sites over time;
- serve non-personalized ads based on context, such as the page you are viewing and your general location, which still use cookies or identifiers for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention;
- measure ad performance and limit how often you see the same ad;
- detect and prevent fraud and invalid traffic.
These partners collect information directly from your browser or device under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We do not sell your name or contact details, and calculator inputs are never shared with ad partners.
Our current ad partners
We keep this list up to date. As we add or remove advertising networks, this list and the “Last updated” date above will change.
| Partner | Role | Privacy policy | Opt out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense | Ad network (Google and its certified ad technology vendors) | Policy | Opt out |
How to opt out of personalized ads
- Google: Google Ads Settings, and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): optout.aboutads.info (WebChoices) and aboutads.info/choices.
- Mobile apps: the DAA’s AppChoices app, or your device settings (“Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS, “Delete advertising ID” on Android).
- Canada and Europe: youradchoices.ca and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Browser controls: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or enable Global Privacy Control.
Opting out does not stop ads from appearing; you will still see non-personalized ads. Opt-outs are usually stored in a cookie, so they apply only to the browser and device you use and must be repeated if you clear cookies.
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before we or our ad partners use cookies or similar technologies for personalized ads, ad measurement or analytics. This is done through a consent management platform, and you can change your choices at any time on our Cookie Policy page.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and loads according to your consent choices; Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Global Privacy Control
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, as required by California and other state laws. When our site detects GPC, it records an essential-only choice for that browser and requests non-personalized ads from our ad partners, where their technology supports it.
Your U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA as amended by the CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we collect about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising (cross-context behavioral advertising);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not knowingly collect it);
- Appeal a decision we make on your request;
- Non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Categories of information and disclosures. In the past 12 months we, through our ad and analytics partners, have collected identifiers (IP address, cookie and device IDs), internet or network activity (pages viewed, ad interactions) and approximate geolocation. These come from your browser or device. Allowing ad partners to collect this data for personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
How to exercise your rights. To opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link (also in the footer) or enable GPC. For access, correction, deletion or appeal requests, email hello@calculatebright.com. Because we don’t maintain user accounts, we may ask for information needed to locate data associated with your browser or device. You may use an authorized agent. We respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days).
Ad partner disclosures
Some advertising networks require specific language in our privacy policy. Each current partner’s required disclosure appears below; when we join a new network, its disclosure is added here.
Google AdSense
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google’s list of ad technology providers that may serve ads here is available through our consent tool where applicable.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads on this site are not intended to be personalized for children.
Data retention and security
Technical logs and analytics data are kept only as long as our providers’ standard retention periods. Ad partners retain data under their own policies. We use HTTPS on every page.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add or change advertising partners. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
